Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation - QATSIF
The Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation (QATSIF) Scholarship Program provides two years of funding support to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students successfully complete their senior secondary education. The scholarships are designed to reduce the financial barriers associated with Years 11 and 12, encourage students to remain engaged in school, and support them in achieving qualifications such as the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), International Baccalaureate (IB), Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA), or relevant Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathways. By supporting student retention, educational achievement, and pathways to further study and employment, QATSIF helps build stronger future opportunities for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Queensland.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for a QATSIF Scholarship, applicants must:
Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and be accepted by the community in which they live.
Be an Australian citizen and a resident of Queensland.
Be enrolled, or have confirmed enrolment, at a Queensland school.
Be in Year 10 or Year 11 at the time of application.
Intend to complete a QCE, IB, QCIA, or approved VET qualification by Year 12 graduation.
Have a current school attendance rate of at least 85%.
Be under 35 years of age.
Be achieving satisfactory academic results, including A-C grades in English and at least a C grade in other subjects (or be on track to complete their qualification if in Year 11).
Demonstrate effort and behaviour at a C standard or above.
Participate in school activities that strengthen or enhance their Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural identity.
Show a willingness to actively participate in school life and act as a positive role model for other students.
