The Queensland Training Awards recognise outstanding achievement across a variety of categories, with the Tropical North Queensland regional final held on Wednesday 5th August.
Tahlia was nominated for her ongoing commitment to her workforce pathway, winning the category for outstanding achievement by a Queensland school-based apprentice or trainee.
Tahlia will now travel to Brisbane on the 19th September for the Queensland finals.
We are extremely proud of Tahlia's achievement acknowledging her perseverance, positive attitude, and commitment to personal growth.

Tahlia grew up beside her grandfather fixing broken-down cars and machinery and knew from the first day of work experience at Ignition Diesel that heavy vehicles were the path. A competitive boxer who won a Queensland State Championship at 16 years old, Tahlia pulls over to help strangers with broken-down cars using skills learned on the job. She is completing her apprenticeship in memory of her mother, who encouraged her to enrol at FNQ Vocational Academy before passing away.
